$1 2008 100 Years of Australia's Coat of Arms Silver Proof

On 7th May 1908 King Edward VII granted a Coat of Arms to the Commonwealth of Australia. The reverse design is a representation of the 1908 Coat of Arms consisting of a shield incorporating the Cross of St George with a seven pointed star on a wreath as the crest above it. A kangaroo and an emu support the shield with a scroll below containing the motto 'Advance Australia Fair'.

A small raised 'C' mintmark on the reverse indicates that the coin was struck by the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra.
