This is the second in a lunar 1oz coin series struck by the Royal Australian Mint Canberra.
Individual coins were encapsulated in a blue leatherette hinged-lid presentation case protected by a Lunar series shipper and accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Struck specifically by the Royal Australian Mint, Canberra for the Chinese market. These were also included in 4,950 1/10oz gold and 1oz silver proof pairs and in 1,000 1/2oz gold and 1oz silver proof pairs.
The issue limit of 30,000 proofs was not reached. Mint records indicate that 10,650 coins were issued, including those released in sets. This indicates that 4,700 individual coins were actually issued.
