$1 2021 RSPCA 150th Anniversary UNC - Cat

The Royal Australian Mint has partnered with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the organisation’s work in Australia. Founded in London in 1824 and then in Australia in 1871, the RSPCA works to protect all animals from cruelty.

An independent charity, the organisation relies on community support to run animal rehoming shelters, investigate complaints of animal cruelty and educate the community about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

Paying tribute to the work of the RSPCA, these seven individual coins include $1 coins featuring a dog, cat, layer hen, dolphin, guinea pig, horse and lizard.
