- Collectors were given an 8 week period in February-April 2008 in which to order the coin. Once the order period had closed and numbers were known, the production run was completed, striking only sufficient coins to fill orders plus a small proportion for distribution by selected numismatic dealers. It was the 12th time that this 'subscription' procedure has been used fill orders by the Canberra Mint
- The coin is housed encapsulated, in a black hinged-lid case protected in a themed cardboard shippper and accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity
