1969 Proof Set - Original RAM Box of 5 Perfect Sets
No proof sets were issued by The Royal Australian Mint (R.A.M) dated 1967 & 1968 because the absence of 50c coins for those years. The R.A.M started offering the six coin proof set dated 1969 with an issue price of $10.00 per set. The 1c to 50c coins were housed sealed in a see-both-sides hard plastic case.
Only 12,696 proof sets were produced and distributed around the world with an initial limit of 5 per order. Because the coins in the set were sealed for the first time in this format, toning is often found on them, particularly on the copper 1c & 2c pieces. Storage in other than optimum conditions has resulted in a significant proportion of them containing toned spotted, fingerprint, spoiled and mishandled coins. It is now very difficult to find a pristine quality set with unimpaired coins. The five x 1969 Proof Sets in original cases that we have on offer are in pristine first quality and comes complete with the original and official mailing box with Royal Australian Mint red tape - yes only one available!
