$2 2018 30th Anniversary of the Two Dollar 3 Coin Proof Set
On 20th June 1988 the $2 coin joined Australia's array of circulating currency. With its release came the opportunity to honour our country's Indigenous population with Horst Hahne's depiction of Ainslie Roberts' drawing of an Aboriginal elder taking pride of place on the coin's reverse.
To mark the 30th anniversary of the two dollar coin this three-coin set commemorates the well known $2 design struck by the Royal Australian Mint. With a tiny mintage of just 1988 each coin features one of the three obverses to adorn the coin over the past three decades while the reverse features the well known Aboriginal elder design.
