2011 Australian Koala 5oz $8 Silver Proof
This is the first Koala coin to be struck from 5 ounces of silver and the first to be struck to proof quality with an $8 denomination, dated 2011. The majority of the mintage of 5,000 were sold overseas by the Perth Mint with just 300 reserved for the Australian market.
The issue limit of 5,000 was fully subscribed. Each coin is housed encapsulated in a dark grey hinged-lid case accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity and protected in a cardboard shipper featuring a coloured illustration of two koalas.
