2013 Opal Series - Kangaroo 1oz Silver Proof
This coin is the third in an Australian Opal one ounce silver proof series. The reverse incorporates an inner panel design of a kangaroo detailed in pure Australian opal. The outer panel of the coin depicts Sturts Desert Pea leaves and blossoms a first crescent moon and the Southern Cross a renowned star group which is only visible in the Southern hemisphere.
Limited to a fully subscribed issue of 8 000 proofs each coin is housed encapsulated in a grey hinded-lid presentation case accompanied by a numbered certificate of autheticity and protected by a colourful cardboard 'Australian Opal Series' outer shipping box. Symbolising moonlight a light turns on when the case is opened highlighting the opal design and shining down on the nocturnal kangaroo.slight mark on cardboard
