2013 Sister Cities 1oz Silver Proof - Perth ANDA Show
To celebrate the Sister City relationship between Melbourne in Australia and St Petersburg in Russia, The Perth Mint released this lenticular image coin which portrays an iconic landmark from each city.
The reverse features an image of the front façade of Flinders Street Station in Melbourne with a passing tram and a second image of the Admiralty building of St Petersburg, facing the icy Neva River, with the Isaac Cathedral in the background.
With the use of lenticular lenses on the reverse's insert, these two images transform from one to the other as the coin is moved.
An issue limit of 2,000 were made available at the Melbourne ANDA show, with each coin housed encapsulated, in a grey leatherette, hinged-lid presentation case, accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity and protected in a custom-designed shipper featuring the ANDA logo with the dates of the Melbourne Coin Show 18-20 October 2013.
