2015 100th Anniversary of Gallipoli 4 Coin Silver Proof Set
Some of the most iconic and significant battles from the First World War were staged on Gallipoli. Soldiers from many nations and walks of life faced the fear and uncertainty of combat. Whether they stood alongside or face-to-face with other soldiers they were united in their bravery and their bewilderment at what they would face.
On the centenary of these battles four countries have contributed silver crown sized proof's to this 2015 four coin set. The Royal Australian Mint has struck a $5 featuring the Lone Pine. The Royal Mint-United Kingdom has issued a £5 depicting a map of the nautical position of Gallipoli and its shore. New Zealand Post's $1 features a wounded soldier being carried off the battlefield and the Republic of Turkey's 20 Lira reverse design consists of a dove and olive branch symbolising peace. The mintage of the complete four coin silver set is only 3000 worldwide. Outer cardboard packaging is creased, second quality.
