




2016 50th Anniversary of Decimalisation 1c & 2c Set
During 1965 and 1966 three of Australia's mints produced 1 cent and 2 cent pieces. They were the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra the Royal Melbourne Mint and the Royal Perth Mint.
The Perth Mint were instrumental in the production of much of the low denomination bronze coinage for Australia's conversion to decimal currency on the 14th February 1966.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the changeover in 2016 The Perth Mint has struck a two coin silver set which includes a one cent featuring the feathertail glider and a two cent with the frilled-neck lizard designed by Stuart Devlin. Both the 99.9% pure silver one ounce one dollar proofs depict a "P" for Perth mintmark.
