To celebrate Australia hosting the Netball World Cup Sydney 2015 a special ‘S’ for Sydney counterstamp coin with the 20c coin design was produced.
In August 2015 Australia hosted the world's pinnacle netball championship the 14th Netball World Cup and for the second time. Held every four years since the world cup's inception in 1963 Australia previously hosted the Netball World Cup on two occasions in Perth in 1967 and in Sydney in 1991. The games were held at Sydney Olympic Park.
