

50c 2015 Australians at War - El Alamein Carded UNC
As part of the ANZAC Centenary 2014-2018 Commemorative Coin Program issued by the Royal Australian Mint three new cupro-nickel 50¢ pieces have been issued with a mintage of 50 000 of each design dated 2015.
The Australian and allied forces face an uphill battle against German and Italian forces the later sought to seize control of the Suez Canal and oil fields in the middle east. In 1942 the Allies’ fortunes began to change due to two significant actions in the Egyptian town of El Alamein.
